Apache basketry is renown for quality. Of those, the Yavapai band basketry is the premium variety. Recognized by its black tondo, the Yavapai are fond of animal and plant figures. But the major distinguishing factor is the Yavapai star, as shown here. Measuring about eleven inches in diameter, this specimen is excellent to mint condition, ca.1970s. Possibly by Josephine Harrison of Ft. McDowell, among the last of the great Yavapai weavers.
HUGE price adjustment from list.
