Authentic Nampeyo Bowl

Hopi pottery is littered with potters claiming Nampeyo family lineage. The CORN HALLMARK seen on this dandy jar is like a Certificate of Authenticity. This one is also faintly signed by Miriam Nampeyo, ca.1980s.

The design claims many monikers such as bat wings and such. It is a fairly invent adaptation of Old Lady Nampeyo’s famous seven Migrations. Dug from secretive family clay beds, this jar is hand cooled with clean, even walls and in good condition. Polychrome minerals are as expected for its Seventies vintage.

3 1/4” x 4 1/2”. Stone polished Polychrome with fine line mineral design. Pit fired. Collectible.
