Skookum dolls may have been among the first national crazes for American doll collectors. The inventor, Mary McAboy, patented the Skookum in 1914. All are wrapped in Indian like blankets and cloths. They were popular between 1920 until 1960.
This particular Skookum is twelve inches, bottom to top of bentwood. The original wrappings and beads remain. Some wear on the face, typical of aged Skookums. Circa 1930-40s. Good condition for age. See photos for details
