The Royston mining district near Tonopah, Nevada consists of several mines, Royston, Royal Blue, Bunker Hill and others. All have come to be called “Royston” as a group and have in common the BOULDER matrix shown in this specimen, which range from dark brown to GOLD in color. As a result, much Royston turquoise is true POLYCHROME, an added value feature. Much high grade was harvested in the Seventies. In recent years, the original veins seem to have been rediscovered in very limited amounts.
SOLD, thanks!
This cabochon is from a private collection, vaulted since the Seventies, true vintage in age. It is backed by Devcon, a sign of the Seventies and carries an exceptionally high grade polish.
Known for its deep green and rich light blue colors. The combination, as in this cabochon, is a true turquoise color (mixture of green and blue HUES). Many Royston stones are two-tone, with a mineralized combination of the rich colors.
On SALE for a short while. Don’t let someone else grab it!
