PROVENANCE: From old pawn vaults Keams Canyon Trading Post, circa 1960. Vaulted since. Deep and rich patina, original state.
If this pin could talk it would tell about late night dances and rodeos and ceremonial events. This pin went everywhere, condition shows that. Never the less, in remarkable condition for it’s apparent usage. NAVAJO for sure. Perhaps from mid century, even earlier. Natural handcut turquoise and perhaps from the era when many Navajo were soldering with Blow Torches, reservation central. From our Gallery Collection Vaults.
Measures over two inches in diameter, lost one silver ball (can you find it?), pin shank shows extensive use, held together by a safety pin!
