SUMMER BLOWOUT at Dennis June Gallery
Of the three types of Fred Harvey Jewelry, the HANDMADE is most sought. These are actually handmade replicas of the machine made variety. Usually made by Navajo, the silversmith followed the style of the FH souvenir BUT with a heavier shank plate, hand sawed bridges, handstamping, and elongated side loops. Because Fred Harvey’s “Pretty Girl” bracelet was the design that was selling.
The side plate APPLIQUE’ on this is quite complex and may be machine struck, which would classify this as a HYBRID, mentioned on a couple dozen pages and Chapter 13 in my FH book.
The bezel set stone appears newer, likely replaced at some point. But the other Fred Harvey features are impressive.
