Trading posts were hotbeds of Native Turquoise jewelry. Traders built stone reinforced vaults to house the old pawn jewelry that flowed in and out of the trading post.
This old pawn bracelet was collected from the Polacca Trading post in the Sixties. The missing stones and subsequently worn down bezels suggest all sorts of stories. That it remains in its collected condition is emblematic of its ETHNOGRAPHIC past, ca.1930s, assessed as natural BLUE GEM turquoise.
