DAN NAMINGHA – A forty year veteran of the SW art scene, artisan Dan Namingha continues to share. And astound. A master colorist, Namingha can present a canvas of undulating colors and that is all. On occasion, he allows a glimpse of his Hopi/Tewa heritage. But he never stops. His myriad renditions of colors, shapes and scant images tell the story of his people, ancestors and blessings.
When it comes to imagery, Namingha is all Pueblo. That he bled a Kachina image from this burst of colors is a visage between matter, energy, motion and spirits. Namingha balances his work with dabs and scrapes and strokes.
