Cobblestone inlay is difficult to achieve. Much like channel inlay or stone-to-stone inlay, COBBLESTONE requires much more individual talent . . . and work. Each cabochon must match its neighbor exactly, creating a mosaic of log-like stones and shells aligned in a perfect harmony of gleam and color. The rounded features of each cab catch light and reflect it in harmony with those surrounding it. Cobblestone is work!
This ring is likely Puebloan in origin, possibly Navajo. Much precision work has gone into it’s creation, and the hallmark, unidentified, seems to point to the late 1970’s.
