Art Tafoya is the acknowledged successor of the Peshlakai stampwork method. This is partially because somehow Art came into possession of the stamps and tools of Fred Peshlakai, at first as a student, then as a full fledged silversmith. In many ways, Art has superceded the breadth and depth of the patterns pioneered by the Peshlakai brothers. Today, there a few silversmiths who can compete with the incredible talent and experience of Art Tafoya.
His stamping is robust and deep. There is no mistaking each stroke of his heavy hammer and deep stamps. It is one reason Art is known as a Master Silversmith. Another reason is his his longevity, many years of premium silverwork, as shown in this great bracelet. The stone is a top grade Sinai SPIDERWEB, often called Pharoah turquoise, natural and handcut, bezel set. Will fit the small to medium wrist, is in an extra heavy and thick silver, featuring a “boss” (bumped out) motif. Few are in the class of this bracelet, a collector item.
